Foodies Read 2013 Challenge

I don't usually talk about food on this blog, but I couldn't resist entering this year's Foodies Read Challenge since it combines a few of my very favorite things. Working for a site like Eat Your Books, it's no surprise I am a great lover of not only "regular books," but cookbooks and "foodie" books as well. I have a lot of other things on my plate (pardon the pun) this year, but since this challenge also includes cookbooks, I decided I could at least try for the third level "Sous Chef" and read 9-13 books. Check out Foodies Read hosted by I'd Rather Be at the Beach for more information and to sign up if you want to join in!

Some Tentative Choices:

A Pig in Provence: Good Food and Simple Pleasures in the South of France   Julia Child: A Life   American Food Writing: An Anthology: With Classic Recipes
Where Women Cook: Celebrate!: Extraordinary Women & Their Signature Recipes   The Lost Art of Real Cooking: Rediscovering the Pleasures of Traditional Food One Recipe at a Time   Apples for Jam: A Colorful Cookbook
Make the Bread, Buy the Butter: What You Should and Shouldn't Cook from Scratch -- Over 120 Recipes for the Best Homemade Foods   Table of Contents: From Breakfast with Anita Diamant to Dessert with James Patterson--A Generous Helping of Recipes, Writings and Insights from Today's Bestselling Authors   Venezia: Food And Dreams
A Cook's Tour of Scotland: From Barra to Brora in 120 Recipes   My French Kitchen: A Book of 120 Treasured Recipes   American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America

UPDATE: I will be keeping track of my progress with this challenge here.
