2013 Challenges

There are a lot of reading challenges I want to participate in this year, so for most of them I am only aiming for a lower level of the challenge. I'm hoping this will help diversify my reading this year and help me read more of the books I've been dying to read.

A big thank you to The Book Vixen for the easy tutorial for creating progress bars!

  1. Good thing you're not challenge-challenged. :) You should be very busy this year. (I was looking for your list for your banned books selection but didn't find it. Just curious.:)

    1. Vikk, you're right -- I think my own challenge is the only one I didn't post a tentative list for! I have a bunch of ideas, but I definitely plan to read The Great Gatsby, Their Eyes Were Watching God, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, & Women in Love -- I'll definitely put together an "official" list and post later in the week though!

I'm thinking I might also do a list of books I was most surprised to see have been challenged to help give people ideas -- like Lord of the Rings, sometimes it's the books you least expect (and maybe were planning to read anyway!)

    2. Hi again Vikk -- I finally posted my banned books picks for the challenge! You can find it here.

  2. How did you get those bars that show your progress on your blog? Those are sweet and I would like to steal your idea for my challenges page.

    1. I definitely did not come up with it all on my own! I learned how to create the progress bars on The Book Vixen's site (the link is at the very bottom of the page). When I first looked at it, I thought it was way too difficult and the HTML was way over my head, but once I realized you could just use the portion of the code for the bar itself and ignore the rest of it about the images and such, it really was easy. If you're having any trouble, let me know and I'll try to help!

I'd love to hear what you think :)
