If anything, I usually use challenges as an "excuse" to keep myself on track with my plans and make sure I make time for certain types of books I've been meaning to read, but never get around to for one reason or another.

I have decided to host, so if you decide you'd like to join, you can do so here. And whether or not you link up reviews is up to you -- even just popping back once at the end of the year to leave a comment mentioning the books you read would be nice :)Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03215797870829907924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3216081229982312439.post-59313337769523943172013-12-15T03:10:16.644-05:002013-12-15T03:10:16.644-05:00Sounds interesting actually, and I'm all for r...Sounds interesting actually, and I'm all for reading banned books. I just don't usually get around to linking up reviews. And, I doubt I'd change my reading habits much to participate. But, it sounds like a good idea.Holly Letsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05501557775125724846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3216081229982312439.post-48524313407636845752013-12-04T11:25:20.789-05:002013-12-04T11:25:20.789-05:00I know, right? I did do really well on a few, but ...I know, right? I did do really well on a few, but completely failed on others (and my overall Goodreads challenge isn't looking so good!) I personally like joining genre-specific ones where I know I'm planning to read at least a few books since it's such a good way to "mingle" with other like-minded readers by browsing the linky with everyone's reviews and having the opportunity to share my own reviews with people who enjoy that genre as well. Probably not the *best* reason to join in the strictest sense, but works for me, and I enjoy the idea of a challenge, even if I don't always live up to my own expectations! :)Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03215797870829907924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3216081229982312439.post-75186651146472368082013-12-03T13:54:50.157-05:002013-12-03T13:54:50.157-05:00I can't believe it is that time of year again ...I can't believe it is that time of year again to sign up for challenges. I'm still on the fence if I want to do any since I failed miserably at the ones I did do this year. Besides my goodreads challenge I pretty much did nothing else. :/Kayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03788568691345783808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3216081229982312439.post-14443060700129950662013-12-03T10:46:28.051-05:002013-12-03T10:46:28.051-05:00Thanks for helping spread the word Charlie! I'm still trying to figure out if I have enough choices to join your challenge -- so many challenges, so little time!Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03215797870829907924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3216081229982312439.post-17057211609099763172013-12-03T10:06:45.841-05:002013-12-03T10:06:45.841-05:00I like the idea but I'm still to see just how ...I like the idea but I'm still to see just how much time What's In A Name is going to take up (just started hosting it). I'll have to see how it goes, and it would likely be a joining half-way through the year thing. I'll spread the word though because I know there are many people who like reading them.Charlie (The Worm Hole)https://www.blogger.com/profile/00675899182238415718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3216081229982312439.post-91866425646561910992013-12-01T19:56:37.253-05:002013-12-01T19:56:37.253-05:00That's OK! I just wanted to put a feeler out and see if I get even just a few yes or maybe answers. If so, I probably will go for it -- it's not a very high maintenance challenge and if I submit it to the Novel Challenges site, will probably be able to find a few more participants from there :)

Will have to check out your challenge as well when I get a chance!Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03215797870829907924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3216081229982312439.post-78429341782042248722013-12-01T18:24:51.402-05:002013-12-01T18:24:51.402-05:00Hey sweetheart. I have signed up to 11 of them this year but no way am I going to do that again. Maybe half. I think I will base my reading challenges on the books I have at home. I need to do another year of reading the books I have.

That is funny that you posting about doing a reading challenge. I did the same today too!
