Last summer I participated in a Make Me Read it Readathon and it really worked for me in terms of choosing my next book and actually sticking with it. So I thought I'd do a version of that by putting 6 of my Classics Club titles up for a vote here on the blog. With only 6 choices instead of 20, I can focus just on books I realistically want to read next. By leaving the final decision up to you guys, I think it retains a bit of the Spin's element of surprise. And best of all, I know hearing what book YOU are most excited about will provide an extra boost of motivation and encouragement. So, help a bookworm out? I'll keep the poll open for a week or two -- or until there have been at least a few votes and I'm ready to read :)
UPDATE: Voting is now closed! THANK YOU to everyone who voted :)
What children's classic should I read next?
I voted but must note that any of these will be a great choice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for voting! And that's what I was hoping for -- whatever wins will be a great choice :)
Deleteit was tempting to pick Charlotte's Web - a childhood favourite, but my sister had a copy of Bedknobs and Broomsticks which I always found fascinating.
ReplyDeleteThanks for voting! Well, Charlotte's Web is still in the lead at the moment, so we shall see what happens. I am thinking of reading more than one book from this list anyway, but the question is which to read first :)
DeleteWhile they are all good, I voted :) Happy reading !!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm very excited to see which book wins :)
DeleteI have to pick just one?? But they're all good! (Actually, I didn't remember that Bedknob and Broomstick was a book and not just a movie. I'll have to check that one out!) But other than that, I love them all!
ReplyDeleteI love this spin on the Classics club spin, too. This is a fun way to participate and make sure those classics get read!
I know what you mean! It was hard narrowing down my choices even because I really do want to read all of them -- which bodes well for this challenge I think! Thanks for voting -- I think I will do this again in the future instead of the traditional spin :)
DeleteAlso of note, Bedknob and Broomstick is actually two books! The Magic Bed-Knob and Bonfires and Broomsticks -- who knew! It still looks like a nice short read even being two books.
This is so fun! I loved all of these books when I was younger! I voted for Mrs. Piggle Wiggle because it was my obsession for a bit. haha Have fun and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks for voting Kay! I will definitely get to that one too even though it didn't win. I read the opening paragraph before buying them and I was sold -- I'm pretty sure they are gonna be great :)
DeleteOhhh these are ALL SO GOOD THOUGH!! I hope you get a chance to read them all eventually.😊😊 I voted for Alice but Charlotte's Web seems to be winning haha, but that's still an excellent one and sooo good. SO MANY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES HERE. 😜
ReplyDeleteThanks for voting Cait! Nice to see Alice get some love too :) Charlotte's Web was really good -- it did end up winning and I read it already!
