So the challenge is to choose 20 books from my Classics Club List and then read the book that corresponds with the randomly selected number by Oct. 6th. You're supposed to mix up your list and include some really tough classics or ones you're dreading, but to be perfectly honest, if I am dreading reading it, it's not on my list! So I'm using this more as an opportunity to pick my next classic without my usual indecisiveness.
I'm currently stuck at 6/50 read for The Classics Club and five of those six have been re-reads, mostly for my Required Re-Reading Project. I'm perfectly happy with that, but for the purposes of this spin, I'm not giving myself any re-reading options -- so that will be my version of a *challenge*. Check back on Monday to see which book I will be reading :)

Your list looks really interesting. I want to reread Atonement soon as it has been a few years. Good luck with your first spin, hope you get a book you will really enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've heard Atonement is really good, so I hope you get a chance to re-read it :) I don't really believe in forcing myself to read books I'm dreading, so I figure any number should work out just fine :)
DeleteLots of people are including Wharton in their list this time. :) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've been wanting to try her and thought having those two shorter ones as options would be a good start :)
DeleteI read TEWWG last year for a CC reading challenge. I had never heard of it until then...and was absolutely blown away by it (no pun intended!) I would love to reread it at some point.
ReplyDeleteGood luck
I wouldn't mind that one's number getting picked in the slightest :)
DeleteGreat list! I spun Their Eyes Were Watching God last time, and it was a fantastic read.
ReplyDeleteI've heard such good things about that one -- I would be very pleased if that number was chosen :)
DeleteGood luck! Is there a number you're really hoping to get? It's an interesting list. I haven't read several of them.
ReplyDeleteI would love if #12 or #13 came up because I love reading collections like those bit by bit and a two month window would be perfect to work my way through them -- can't go too far wrong with any of the others though either :)
DeleteYou've compiled a varied list. You can never go wrong with a good mystery, and the classics are my favourite. I read And Then There Were None not too long ago and was hooked right till the very end. I hope you enjoy whatever number is picked!

Bits & Bobs
I definitely like to mix things up. Classic mysteries are an area I've been meaning to explore, but haven't yet -- if Sherlock's number comes up, I might end up getting hooked on the other Conan Doyle titles on my list afterwards, not that that would be a bad thing! As for Christie, I only have 3 titles total in my collection, but I know there are a ton of others at my library if I get hooked on her :)
DeleteI can't wait to see what ends up being your pick. This is such a fun way to help fight indecisiveness. (I have it too in a major way.)
ReplyDeleteYou feel my pain! I think the problem for me is that saying "yes" to one book means saying "no" to others, at least for the time being -- I know that's how life goes, but it doesn't make these decisions any easier -- thankfully this isn't life or death stuff here :)
DeleteAllende, Wharton, Jackson, and Hurston! What a great list. Good luck with your first spin. I hope you'll get one you really like!
ReplyDeleteThanks! And I think I did :)
DeleteSome lovely picks on there! Atonement, Memories of My Melancholy Whores, And Then There Were None, The Haunting of Hill House, Lolita... all some of my favorites. Hope you enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I really felt like I couldn't go too far wrong with any of these if they were the number chosen :)
