Waiting on Wednesday (#20): Written in My Own Heart's Blood

About two weeks ago, Diana Gabaldon posted on her blog about the cover of Written in My Own Heart's Blood, the 8th installment in the Outlander series. It's not specifically the cover that has me excited, but the fact that a cover reveal means that publication is nearing! These books are major chunksters and there is always a very long time gap in between releases, so I'm beyond excited to know the wait is now significantly less than a year.
 Expected Publication: December 10, 2013

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine.

    1. I hope you do Riv - they are so good! Her covers are very simple which is actually a nice change of pace.

  2. That is really exciting! I need to read more books in this series, I have only read the first one, but like you said they are pretty chunky books so I need to find the time. Great pick!

    1. I hope you get around to the rest of them eventually -- they are time consuming, but they are so worth it. There are some fans whose interest has waned as the series went on, but I am definitely not among them! The first will forever be my favorite, but I love how we are basically following these characters entire lives which is not something you find often in books.

  3. Most anticipated book of the year, hands down. Such a shame we have to wait ALL the way until December though. Very glad to hear that this isn't in fact the last installment though too!
    My WoW Pick!

    1. Glad to hear from another Outlander fan! I'm not sure how many more there will be, but I've read it's at least one more. I really do wonder how she'll finish off the series and I hope the final ending will do the story and the characters justice.

  5. I have this on my wishlist too Christine. I am sorry it has taken me so long to stop by. You visited my review of the Golem and the Jinni. I have had pneumonia and while my posts were all scheduled, I didn't make it around to any blogs for almost two weeks. I am now following you and look forward to chatting about books.

  6. Everyone (but me) has read at least one book of the Outlander's Series but I don't want to start a new series when I have so many to finish. Soooo many.... But this sounds like a book I would love to read. AGH!
